Environmental Risk Management, Inc. (ERMI) is seeking resumes for full-time, entry-level field scientists in our Fort Myers office.
ERMI is a turnkey environmental services firm specializing in environmental assessment, remediation and forensic consulting based in Fort Myers, Florida. We are a licensed engineering, asbestos, and geology firm, a FDEP Agency Term Contractor in the Petroleum Restoration Program and a site remediation contractor. Our clients include contractors, developers, banks, realtors, owners, engineers, state and local governments.

A field technician would be responsible for:

  • Sampling soil and groundwater
  •  Calibration and maintenance of field equipment
  •  Maintaining OSHA HAZWOPER certification
  •  Conducting field, regulatory, and office research
  •  Knowledge of FDEP & ASTM SOPs
  •  Maintaining a general understanding of applicable environmental regulations
  •  Oversight of contracted field activities (drilling, remediation system construction, excavation, etc.)
  •  Operation and maintenance of remediation systems
  •  Some field tasks involve physical labor, including heavy lifting of equipment or supplies, operating a core drill, hand-augering, and related physical tasks in various temperatures and weather conditions. Must be able to lift 50 pounds.

(ERMI) is seeking resumes for part-time paid internship positions from those currently enrolled in environmental studies, geology, environmental engineering, or related science programs.  The position is part-time with flexible hours and will primarily focus on data tabulation, map generation, and Auto-CAD.

Environmental Risk Management, LLC. (ERMI) is currently seeking a full-time environmental project manager. Minimum of five (5) years’ experience in Phase I/II ESA, soil and groundwater assessment, and/or environmental remediation, and knowledge of applicable Florida regulations required. Knowledge of the State of Florida Petroleum Restoration Program preferred.

Our clients include contractors, developers, banks, realtors, owners, engineering firms, and government agencies.

A project manager is responsible for:

  • Project coordination of ERMI staff and resources, vendors, site owners and regulatory officials.  Responsible to select and manage appropriate subcontractors required by the scope of work.
  • Knowledge of the applicable rules, regulations, guidelines, standards, SOPs, and other technical references that form the basis of the project.
  • Developing scopes of work, preparing accurate project cost estimates, and ensuring projects are on-time and under budget with work performance consistent with the industry standard of care.
  • Preparing or reviewing proposals, reports, invoices, communication records and keeping orderly project folders.  Responsible for the report content accuracy, thoroughness, regulatory and client approval, and demonstration of project objectives.
  • Field work and support, including sample collection, project oversight, site visits, and on-site meetings.
  • The position requires good verbal and written communication skills, positive attitude, willingness to take initiative, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
