Steve Hilfiker MS, LEP

Founder and president of Environmental Risk Management Steve is a former two-term president of the Florida Environmental Assessors Association and has served as Environmental Committee Chairman for the Florida Petroleum Marketers Association and Florida Retail Federation.  He was a founder of the ASTM Subcommittee E50.06 on Environmental Forensics, and he is on the Board of Directors of the Florida Ground Water Association. He is on the technical and legislative committees of the Florida Brownfields Association. Steve graduated from Geneseo State University of New York and the University of Florida with Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Environmental Studies, respectively.

  • General Manager, Environmental Division; Responsibilities included project management, technical oversight, research, quality assurance and quality control, and coordinating a staff of geologists, engineers, toxicologists, biologists, risk assessors and environmental specialists.

  • Taught Physical Geography, Aerial Photographic Interpretation and Remote Sensing courses. Developed a Geographic Information System (GIS) tutorial package for the University of Florida.
